Ingredients
6 oz shortening, weight
6 oz butter, weight
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups chocolate chip
1 teaspoon salt
Preparation
In a mixing bowl, blend the butter, sugar, and shortening until creamy. Gradually add the eggs one by one while the mixer is on. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients and mix by hand, then incorporate the chocolate chips.
Refrigerate the dough for a day before baking the cookies. Use a scoop to portion the dough and bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes.
